NMCHEA's Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) Project provides counseling and college admissions to qualified adults who want to enter or continue a program of postsecondary education.  An important objective of EOC is to counsel participants on financial aid options and to assist in the application process.  Our goal is to increase the number of adult participants who want to enroll in postsecondary educational institutions.

 

 

Program Services

  • Academic Counseling

  • Personal Counseling

  • Career Counseling

  • Information on postsecondary educational opportunities

  • Information on student financial assistance

  • Assistance in completing applications for college admissions, testing, and financial aid

  • Coordination with nearby postsecondary institutions

  • Media activities designed to involve and acquaint the community with higher education opportunities

 

Individuals Who Can Receive Assistance

  • A resident of the target area:

Calhoun, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Clay, Kemper, Lee, Lowndes, Monroe, Noxubee, Neshoba, Oktibbeha, Pontotoc, Union, Webster, and Winston counties

  • A citizen of the United States

  • A high school student planning a career

  • An adult who never completed high school & wants to receive a GED

  • A working person who wants to move out of a dead-end job or an unsatisfying career

  • A college student who needs assistances with study skills and/or tutoring

  • A homemaker who is thinking about going back to work outside the home or back to school

  • Anyone interested in receiving a postsecondary education

 

EOC Can Help You!

  • By providing empowerment workshops & training

  • By providing financial aid career guidance, & admissions assistance

  • By encouraging adults to continue their education, we will help adults selects & complete college or university admissions application
